Event Description

KIPMI March 2011 Chapter Meeting
Project Title:
Buy This Not That! A Guide to Software Procurement

We are faced with purchasing decisions every day. Most of our personal decisions do not involve millions of dollars or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. We are expected to be good stewards of the organization’s financial resources. This is even more important in health care where every dollar saved can be used to purchase more items for direct patient care.

What’s Offered?
Ms. Weaver will present a new model piloted by Norton Healthcare with a recent care management system purchase. Following this model allowed the procurement team to make the best decision for Norton Healthcare using a variety of evaluation criteria. Janice will also share the challenges and lessons learned along the way.

Presenter Bio:
Janice Weaver, PMP, is the Associate Vice President for the Enterprise Program Management Office at Norton Healthcare. Janice has over 30 years experience in project and program management. She has several high profile achievements managing multi-million dollar programs including Norton Brownsboro Hospital, which was one of 3 finalists for PMIs Project of the Year in 2010, and Kosair Children’s Medical Center – Brownsboro.
