I had a great time at the Fox & Hound tonight. I got to see some people I hadn't seen in a while, meet people in person who I have had online conversations with and make some new friends all in one place. I just wanted to take this post to thank you all:
The Solarity Group
Bud Ratliff drove out from Midway, KY to give his presentation on the PMBOK changes and he did an awesome job keeping the crowd engaged, despite the less than optimal acoustics in the room. ;) I've attempted to throw "networking events" in the past and I think that the opportunity for a free PDU is a pretty big draw. I really think so after tonight. :) Without Bud and his presentation, we wouldn't have had much to meet up about.
Thank you Bud. I really appreciate it. :)
KIPMI
The Fox & Hound charged us for using their space and when I approached Joe Luttrell about sponsoring the event, he didn't blink an eye. Working with Monica Martinson and Chuck Millhollan to get the event officially sanctioned and publicized through KIPMI was an equally awesome experience. Our PMI chapter is full of great people making a difference, and I'm proud to be a part of it.
Thank you Joe, Monica, and Chuck. :)
The Recruiters
Karen Babcock and Chad Flaherty brought a lot of energy to the event and were great to mingle with, in my opinion. There are people going through some tough times right now, and I think its awesome that we can get together to try to help one another out. We had an unofficial slogan in college, "Collaborate to Graduate" and I can see that motto taking shape within our community of LouisvillePMers.
Thank you.
The Networkers
If I didn't say hi to you tonight then I will do my best to do so next event. (We're thinking about the next one already, BTW) :) I was really happy with the turnout and thoroughly enjoyed the conversations I had this evening.
Thanks for coming out.
